If you are a Mailbox user, here s how you can export and save your data before the shutdown.
One of the most interesting features of Mailbox is Auto-swipe. It learns how you interact with your emails, for an example you put mails with particular subject line to a certain folder, the feature will start doing it automatically for you. It can also automate the same for archives and even scheduling mails. The feature remembers your patterns and syncs them across Android and iOS devices.
However, Dropbox will delete Auto-swipe Patterns and disable Auto-swipe on February 26, 2016. You can replicate your Patterns with other services as well. Mailbox has added an export button in Settings > Auto-swipe that allows you to email your Patterns. You can replicate the same in Gmail via Filters that allow you to automatically send email to a label, archive, delete, star. It also allows forward emails as well as keep out of Spam if you want to.
To import a filter in Gmail, click the Import filters link that is available at the bottom of the page > select the file with the filter you want to import > Open file button > Click Create filters.
You can also modify Auto-Swipe patterns. Click Mailbox in the menu bar > choose preferences > tap Auto-swipe > tap X to delete a pattern. Another process to edit is clicking the Auto-swipe bubble in an Auto-swiped email thread in a particular folder, and edit the setting.
If you have multiple lists on Mailbox, then do not worry. These lists will remain as it is in your labels in Gmail and folders in iCloud. You can spot these lists under a Mailbox header. You can rename these lists. You can learn on how to create, edit and manage labels in Gmail here, while Apple users can do so by clicking here.
If you have some important information in drafts, you need to save the content by either emailing them to yourself or any other recipient. It s worth noting that Mailbox will delete drafts on February 26.
Delete the service
As said earlier, starting February 26, Mailbox will no longer allow you to login. But before that you can manually delete the service from your devices. iPhone users can simply tap and hold on the app until it jiggles, and tap the cross sign in the upper-left corner to delete. Android users, on the other hand, can go to Settings>Apps Manager > Download Apps> Choose Mailbox > Uninstall.
