Dyson officially enters Indian market, plans to invest Rs 1,200 crore over next five years

Dyson has opened its first store in New Delhi, which will be followed with stores in Mumbai and Bengaluru.

In an event in New Delhi, Dyson officially announced its first step into the Indian market. The company has launched its first store in India, which has opened at the DLF Promenade Mall in New Delhi. This will be followed by stores in Mumbai and Bengaluru, and a total of 20 stores across the country in the near future. With its debut in India, Dyson has brought its cord-free vacuum cleaners (Dyson V7 and V8), Dyson Sypersonic hairdryer, and Dyson Pure Cool link air purifiers to the market. As for the price list, the Pure Cool Link Air Purifier (Tower) is priced at Rs 39,900, while the smaller desk model is priced at Rs 34,900. The Pure Cool Link purifiers come in Blue and Silver color options. Also Read - Realme C15 and Realme C12 to launch on August 18 in India: Check expected price, specifications

The vacuum cleaners will be available in three models in India. The Dyson V7 Animal wil retail at Rs 32,400, the Dyson V8 Animal+ will be sold at Rs 36,400, while the Dyson V8 Absolute+ will be priced at Rs 39,900.

The Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer, on the other hand, will be selling at Rs 27,900.

Apart from the Dyson stores, these products will also retail online on and on Amazon India. As Jake Dyson revealed, the company will soon also start a concierge in-home service which will essentially offer complete demonstrations of Dyson products at the customer’s home. The service will begin in Delhi and Gurgaon, and expand to the complete Delhi-NCR region, Mumbai and Bengaluru later this year.

At this point, you must be questioning why would you buy any of these products when there are already much cheaper alternatives to these available in the market. While that’s completely true, there is something that makes Dyson products stand apart.

In the words of Jake Dyson, “Science is at the core of whatever is built at Dyson”. Or from what the founder James Dyson once told us in an interview, “People at Dyson have the Engineer’s disease; we always want to do more. And that’s also the reason why we are so faithful to what we make.” And you can see that in the products.

For one, Dyson products look nothing like the cheaper existing alternatives we see in the market. The brightest fuchsias, blues and yellows coat Dyson products. As for technology, Sir James Dyson was the one to invent high performance cyclones in vacuum cleaners, which helped get rid of the need for a hefty canister. That’s actually how Dyson came to be, through its innovation in vacuum cleaner design and technology.

The Dyson Air Purifiers are another range of products that will catch your eye with its blade-less fan technology, which the company vouches can clean 99.9 percent of particulate matter in a room. The Supersonic hair dryer is the most recent project by Dyson, and as the company claims the product has been tested to guarantee that your hair is never damaged by the heat.

Based in Malmesbury, UK, Dyson Ltd is a family-owned technology company that was founded by Sir James Dyson, who remains Chief Engineer and Chairman of the company. The company describes Dyson’s frustration with conventional vacuum cleaners to be the reason behind him inventing the cyclone technology for vacuum cleaners. He spent some £1.5 million in 1970’s and mid-1980s to successfully create the separation system, after a total of 5,127 attempts.
