Elon Musk on Sunday sent a company-wide email to all Tesla employees notifying them about a sabotage caused at the Tesla Model 3 factory. In the mail, the Tesla CEO talks about an employee who admitted to causing the sabotage, while also warning others to stay vigilant about other perpetrators who might be working in the company.

CNBC was the first to get a hold of the email in which Musk states, A Tesla employee who had conducted quite extensive and damaging sabotage to our operations. This included making direct code changes to the Tesla Manufacturing Operating System under false usernames. Although the full extent of his actions is still unknown, the employee is also accused of exporting large amounts of highly sensitive Tesla data to unknown third parties. Musk stated that the employee s motivation to do this was a promotion that he did not receive.

The CEO also warns his employees that there may be more to the situation. Musk claims that there are a number of organizations that want to see the company fail. He states, These include Wall Street short-sellers, who have already lost billions of dollars and stand to lose a lot more. He also refers to oil and gas companies that would not like to see solar power and electric power cars to succeed. And lastly the multitude of gas and diesel car companies. Musk states, If they’re willing to cheat so much about emissions, maybe they’re willing to cheat in other ways?

Moving forward, Musk asks his employees to be extremely vigilant and inform authorities if they are suspicious about anything or anybody. Tesla is currently ramping up the production of its Model 3 to 5000 cars per week, and in his closing statement Musk also seemed confident about achieving it. However, with growing problems regarding machinery, workers and cash, only time will tell if Tesla will be able to deliver on its promise.
