The eccentric Elon Musk created The Boring Company last December because the Los Angeles traffic was driving him nuts . What arose from a simple idea of boring tunnels, it is slowly drawing closer to its project of making underground transportation tunnels. Musk first revealed videos of its project at a TED conference, after which there were sightings of equipment at SpaceX. A glimpse of its project has now been shared which shows an elevator carrying a Tesla Model S underground. Elon Musk shared the video on his official Instagram page with the caption Testing The Boring Company car elevator.” The short video clip shows the Tesla Model S slowly moving forward to a platform of the elevator. As the car rests, the elevator swiftly takes it down underground which looks pretty cool. The elevator platform on the outside doesn t look like what it s supposed to be giving an element of surprise. But this will probably not be the final look and could change once it s officially ready for use. Within a few months of its creation, The Boring Company is making quick progress on its project.
Earlier this week, Elon Musk had tweeted saying that The Boring Company has received government approval to build an underground Hyperloop. This tunnel would cover New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington DC making travel time between NY-DC only 29 minutes. A peek into what the final result of this project would look like was showcased at the TED conference in Vancouver. The Tron Legacy-like futuristic video shows a car being elevated underground while being stuck in traffic. As the car swoops down there are more underground tunnels in place with cars racing ahead. The pod on which the car is brought down then takes it forward on the tunnel. Also, underground there are multiple tunnels like flyovers overlapping each other with cars speeding back and forth. Elon Musk s remarkable work has already been witnessed with SpaceX and Tesla, and after having nurtured Hyperloop One successfully, it looks like The Boring Company will develop the most groundbreaking technology till date.
