Google is reportedly working on three Wear OS powered smartwatches, and they are expected to be unveiled alongside the Pixel smartphones, later this fall. Until then, fashion brand Emporio Armani has announced its newest Wear OS powered smartwatch. An upgraded version of last year’s “Connected” smartwatch, the new model comes with the same old chipset, while adding NFC connectivity.

The new smartwatch shares the same design as the previous model. The body is made from stainless steel case, and you get two buttons on the right side for menu and back, and a crown to scroll through the menu. Up front, you have a 1.19-inch AMOLED display and the ambient light sensor.

Under the hood, the smartwatch is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, same as last year’s model. With NFC connectivity, you can use your smartwatch to make cashless payments using Alipay in China, or using Google Pay.

For fitness-focused users, the smartwatch adds support for heart rate sensor during workouts, and all-day tracking too. You can sync your health data with Tic Health in China, or on Google Fit. It is also water resistant up to 3ATM, allowing you to use it while swimming, taking a shower or even while diving. However, workouts are recordable only via third-party apps that you can download from Google Play or Mobvoi Store.

The new Emporio Armani Connected smartwatch is available to pre-order from the company’s website, and it is expected to start shipping from August 25 onwards in the US. In rest of the locations worldwide, the smartwatch will be available in early September.

Talking about the pricing, the models featuring Blue and Black case with matching silicone bands will set you back by $345 (approximately Rs 23,600). The models with Silver and Black metal bracelet, or Rose Gold case with Milanese band is priced at $395 (approximately Rs 27,000).
