Evernote says that the hackers had attacked with the aim to gain access to information like usernames, email ids and some encrypted passwords. Despite gaining access the hackers weren t able to see, change or delete any content stored on Evernote. Every user will now have to mandatorily set new passwords when logging in and the company is also planning to update its native apps for various platforms in an attempt to smooth out the password reset process for all users.
This hacking attempt comes in the wake of attacks on other American companies like Facebook, Twitter where more than 250,000 user accounts were hacked into in an attack and attacks on the computers of some Apple employees.
