Exclusive: Reliance Jio's 7-inch LYF FXFL 7008 tablet photos, specifications and features leaked

Reliance Jio is slated to launch its much-awaited 4G services on December 27 for its employees and commercial rollout by April 2016. The company is also expected to sell four series of 4G VoLTE-capable smartphones under its own brand called ‘LYF’. But it seems Reliance Jio is also prepping to launch tablets under its LYF brand.

With two days to go for the launch, a source close to BGR India has shared a few photos and specifications of a 7-inch tablet. Carrying a model number FXFL 7008, the tablet sports a metal frame and metal back with brushed finish to it. From the photos we can see a camera module at the back with LED flash and two openings for the speaker grille at the bottom. On the back, the tablet also has a LYF branding to it.

LYF FXFL 7008 specifications and features: The tablet sports a 7-inch display running at a resolution of 600×1024 pixels (159dpi). It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 210 (MSM8909) quad-core SoC paired with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 304GPU clocked at 307MHz. Also on the offer is 16GB of onboard storage, but details on whether or not it sports a microSD card slot is not available at the moment.

While details about camera resolution are unknown, the tablet does come with a front-facing camera for selfies and video calling, and a rear camera with LED flash. Connectivity features such as Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE are also expected. The tablet is running on Android 5.1.1.

From an earlier reported, we learned that Reliance Jio’s LYF branded smartphones will be priced between Rs 4,000 and Rs 25,000. Going by the hardware, the LYF FXFL 7008 tablet could be one of its most affordable tablets in the lineup.

The LYF-branded smartphones are expected to be available via Reliance Retail and other multi-brand stores. Reliance is also in talks with e-commerce sites like Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon India to for selling its smartphones. It is important to note that Reliance Digital already has its official store on Amazon India, selling products of its co-brand Reconnect.

Reliance Jio is expected to launch its LYF branded smartphones and maybe the tablet as well on December 27. We will keep you posted when the company makes things official. Till then, stay tuned.
