Similar to how you would prepare lists about things you need to do, life goals, assignment details, and so on, the Facebook Lists feature also allows you to create a list of things and share it with your friends on Facebook and seek their advice. The idea here is to spark more engaging conversations between people. To make it an eye-catching post on others’ feed, you can add colors and emojis. Accoding to TechCrunch, the feature is being rolled out gradually, and may not immediately reflect for you. It will be a part of the “What’s on you’re mind?” box as an option alongside things such as polls, photo/video, live, GIF, and more.
Facebook, which was once a place for users to post personal stuff and engage in conversations, today is flooded with ads and non-personal content. To come out of this image, Facebook is tweaking how its News Feed algorithm works. Recently, the company announced that the feed will move away from showing news and brand content to focus more on posts from friends and family.
However, over the years as the threat to online privacy has increased, people have started posting lesser of personal content on the web. Not only has the number of personal posts dramatically declined over the years, Facebook’s younger userbase which is frequent in such updates has also declined. A recent eMarketer report indicates that Facebook lost approximately 2.8 million US users aged under 25 years in 2017. The company is projected to further lose around 2.1 million such users more this year.
