“Understanding the various ways text is used on Facebook can help us improve people’s experiences with our products, whether we’re surfacing more of the content that people want to see or filtering out undesirable content like spam,” the Facebook wrote in a blogpost.
The tool is initially being tested in Facebook Messenger, and is being used to help the site understand certain searches. Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence exhibited by machines. In computer science, an ideal ‘intelligent’ machine is a flexible rational agent that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chance of success at an arbitrary goal.
Facebook has announced the development of a new artificial intelligence (AI) system called DeepText that can analyze what people are writing about in posts with near-human accuracy across 20 languages.
Facebook already says that its AI systems report more offensive photos than humans on its social network. The company also revealed that to get closer to how humans understand text, we need to teach the computer to understand things like slang and word-sense disambiguation. As an example, if someone says, I like blackberry, does that mean the fruit or the device?
