Facebook has now started testing its dating service publicly. The world’s largest social networking company officially launched Facebook Dating in Colombia on Thursday. It was first announced at annual developer conference F8 in May, and recently there were reports of it being tested internally with Facebook employees. According to TheVerge, Facebook Dating feature will be within Facebook s mobile app for now, and is limited to users in Colombia. Facebook app users will need to tap into the hamburger menu ( ) to access the feature. It ll be available to users above 18, and Facebook hasn’t included any ads or premium features for now. It is reported that Facebook Dating at first appears like its close competitor Hinge, although the basic idea of swiping is still from Tinder. Apart from general dating app features, Facebook Dating also integrates Groups and Events in a unique way.
Dating has been a behavior that we ve seen on Facebook for a really long time, said Product Manager, Nathan Sharp in an interview with TheVerge. We want to make it easier and more comfortable for people to engage in. We just thought that now was the right time.

Users will be able to browse for matches within 100 kilometers. Facebook is said to exclude your existing friends from matches suggestion. Also, if someone has been blocked by you on Facebook or vice-versa, they will also be excluded from the suggestions.
