Facebook Home has passed 500,000 installations via the Google Play store. The milestone was noticed by analyst Benedict Evans. Facebook Home was first released to users in the US on April 12 after it was rolled out to international users on the 16th.
The 500,000 user number in itself is pretty modest considering Facebook has in-excess of 1 billion users, but the fact remains that the Facebook Home software is only available on very few Android smartphones. Comparatively, the main Facebook app on Android has between 100 million and 500 million downloads, but it works across a wide range of Android smartphones including devices running very old versions of Android.
