Facebook recently conducted a survey which reveals the top-ranked Facebook pages of government bodies, ministries and political parties in India. The survey looks at the popularity of these account in the period of January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017, and is based on interactions on the platform, which include total reactions, shares and comments. And from what the survey finds out, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the most talked about Lok Sabha member, whereas Sachin Tendulkar is the most popular Rajya Sabha member on Facebook. Also Read - What happens to your Facebook account after you die?
Among apex bodies, PMO India is most popular on Facebook followed by President of India, Ram Nath Kovind. Ministry of External Affairs topped amongst ministries. MyGov India, Digital India and Make in India were the most popular government initiative on Facebook, while amongst the armed forces, the Indian Army is the most popular. Amongst State Government & Union Territories, Yogi Adityanath (Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh) is the most popular followed by Vasundhara Raje (Chief Minister, Rajasthan).
As for political parties, BJP came in first amongst political parties with Aam Aadmi Party coming in second, followed by the Indian National Congress.
Kerala Tourism turned out to be the most popular state board tourism on Facebook, followed by Jammu Kashmir and Gujarat.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru Police, which is famous for using the most popular memes to get its point across, turned out to be one of the most popular and interactive page amongst top traffic police, followed by Kolkata and Hyderabad’s.
