Social media giant Facebook is slowly rolling out a new feature called the ‘Buy Tickets’ button, according to a report on TheNextWeb. What this button essentially does is connect to a third-party site that sells tickets instead of Facebook doing any kind of transaction.

The button when introduced will be present on the event page and will replace the earlier option, a bit.ly link that sent people to a ticketing destination. The button you can say is only there for aesthetic reasons, as a button will always draw more attention than a link. But what this feature also highlights is Facebook’s ambitious plans to become an e-commerce platform most probably starting off by selling tickets for its posted events.
