In the announcement, the social media giant said , “This change is about giving people the best Facebook experience possible. The company conducted a survey in which they asked users how they feel about the content they see on their News Feed. This decision to curb promotional content was made after their survey results revealed that people wanted to see more stories from friends and Pages they care about, rather than promotional content. Facebook asserts that News Feed is a competitive place – as more people and Pages are posting content, competition to appear in News Feed has increased.
