Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, today announced that social networking site has crossed the one billion active user landmark. He wrote, “This morning, there are more than one billion people using Facebook actively each month. If you’re reading this thank you for giving me and my little team the honor of serving you. Helping a billion people connect is amazing, humbling and by far the thing I am most proud of in my life. Ever since Facebook reached the 500 million user mark in 2010, the social network has seen maximum growth from Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico and USA. The median age of users was 22 and Facebook has 600 million mobile users. Facebook crossed the one billion users threshold on September 14.
