The Facebook Paper update has added new options to share articles by text message, email or Facebook message that by default include a ”Shared from Paper” link, prompting more users to download the app.
According to TechCrunch, the social networking giant has also added the ability to mute the app’s sound effects, and create stories in languages that use multi-stage input, including Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
Although the app was launched on February 3, it hasn’t managed to stay near the top of the app charts.
The Paper app started strong as No. 2 in the Apple App Store, but ultimately trickled down to the current No. 290 of all US apps.
The report said that the new sharing options that include download links could help boost its numbers.
