Facebook is launching a tool called Privacy Basics in order to simplify the knowledge on how the company goes about using your data. “By using our services after January 1, 2015, you agree to our updated terms, data policy, and cookies policy and to seeing improved ads based on apps and sites you use,” states the social network in a notification pushed to users on mobile and desktop.
Apart from the notifications , Facebook is also sending out long emails to users about this. They stress on the point of how they want to improve the ads we see on our timeline and our working towards giving the user more control over the ads they see. While this might be great for an average Facebook user, people who conduct business on the social networking site might find it difficult to reach their audience from next year on. Additionally, they might ask these small and big business owners to pay more to reach a wider audience.
