Facebook is slowly introducing a new feature called ‘photo comments’, which lets one reply to a friend’s status update or comment using a photo. For now this feature is being rolled out for the desktop and mobile version of the Facebook website. Facebook’s Bob Baldwin, who built this new feature, posted a sample photo of how these photo comments will look when they are fully released. To upload a photo, users will have to click on an ‘attach a photo’ button and choose what photos they want to upload. Baldwin mentions on his post that he hopes these photo comments make interactions between people more expressive and engaging.
Though photo comments will only be available on the website for the time being, Facebook app users will be able to view photo comments, but not upload such comments until a later date.
