As the date for enforcement GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is upon us, almost all apps and software platforms have sent emails highlighting the changes that they have made to their privacy and data usage policy. Similar to all other platforms, Facebook also added a new blog post on its NewsRoom to announce the changes the company has made in its privacy policies while making it more clear about what data the company is collecting from its users.
Facebook also announced that after updating its data policy and making it easier for its users to find the privacy controls on its website, it now wants its users to go through all the details about advertising, information that they have not shared with their profile, and face recognition. One thing to note here is that this new feature is not limited to European Union and instead, as promised earlier, the new changes will be available for all the users of Facebook.

Chief Privacy Officer, Erin Egan added that Facebook will start asking all its users to “review important information about privacy and how to control their experience” from this week. As part of the review, the company will ask users to review all the data that it uses from its partners to “show more relevant advertising”, the information on relationship, politics, and religion that users have chosen to share with their Facebook profiles.
This is not all as Facebook will ask its users to also review how the company will use face recognition and other features that will help the company better protect the privacy of its users. Last, but not the least, the company will also ask its users to review the changes that it made to its terms of service and data policy back in April.
Facebook has also posted a video showing how users can review all the data as part of the prompt.
