Facebook has now made its Timeline feature mandatory to everyone. Like it or not but over the next few weeks Facebook will automatically switch you to the Timeline. This Feature was launched last year as a result of massive overhauling by the social networking giant. “Last year we introduced timeline, a new kind of profile that lets you highlight the photos, posts and life events that help you tell your story,” said Facebook. Timeline lets you travel back in time through your Facebook posts. Since it will start showcasing your posts from years ago, we suggest you should just go ahead and clean up all those posts which may embarrass you and for you to do that, Facebook is also giving you a “few weeks.” You can use the ‘privacy’ feature or ‘hide/edit’ feature to quickly hide your stuff. Last week, Facebook introduced new Open Graph apps that requires Timeline to be activated on a user’s profile. Facebook has also opened third-party app developers to submit their apps for approval. However, it is clear that not everyone is on Timeline, yet, which had been an optional feature till yesterday. The most likely reason for Facebook pushing Timeline by making it mandatory would be to ensure these apps work seamlessly throughout Facebook and as a result, force developers to come up with more Open Graph apps.
