Back in 2013, Facebook was reportedly testing a feature that would collate everything you posted on the social network on a particular date. The company is now rolling out the feature called On this Day . As the name suggests, Facebook is letting you go back in time and reminiscence what you did on a particular day. Wish you could take a look back at your nerdy profile photo from a couple of years back, Facebook has just made it pretty easy. In addition to photos, you can also check posts and status updates from a particular calendar date. By default only you will be able to see what you did on a particular day. But there is obviously a way to share them with your friends.
The functionality is quite similar to what Timehop offers. The service essentially lets you sign into different social networks and lets you revisit your activities on a particular date. Despite the similarities, it is not surprising that Facebook wants the functionality integrated into its platform.
