Remember the Look Back video feature launched at the beginning of the year by Facebook that pretty much lapped up your last year in one video and filled you with nostalgia? Now just ahead of Thanksgiving, Facebook has launched another tool called ‘Say Thanks’. This video feature essentially lets you show your appreciation by creating a personalized video card that you can send to friends and family. To create a video, you first have to choose a friend, and Facebook will auto-generate a preview of the video. The tool will then let you select different themes and edit photos and posts (if you don’t like the one Facebook generated).
After you’re done making the changes, you can ‘Share’ the video with a personalized message before posting. The video will be posted on your Timeline along with your friends Timeline, apart from tagging the friend in the post.
After the launch of ‘Look Back’, Facebook boasted that over 200 million users watched their own video. We’ll have to wait and see how much traction ‘Say Thanks’ gets.
