Fitbit has announced the launch of its latest product in India, called the Alta HR. Named the world s slimmest fitness wristband, Fitbit Alta HR is equipped with PurePulse Heart Rate technology which can continuously calculate heart rate and features sleeping tools as well. Fitbit Alta HR fitness wristband is available for pre-order on Amazon India and is priced at Rs 14,999. The fitness wristband will remain Amazon India exclusive till April 16, and after that it will be available across retail stores in India. Fitbit Alta HR is successor to the Alta, which was launched last year in February. In addition to the PurePulse Heart Rate technology, Fitbit Alta HR also comes with features like SmartTrack Auto Exercise Recognition, Reminders to Move, Auto Sleep Tracking and Sleep Stages. Fitbit Alta HR also provides call, text and calendar alerts and allows users to customize clock faces. Fitbit Alta HR can calculate the usual number of steps, distance, calorie burn, and active minutes. Fitbit says that the battery on the Alta HR lasts up to seven days on a single charge.
Fitbit has also introduced two new sleep tools called Sleep Stages and Sleep Insights. Sleep Stages, which is powered by PurePulse, uses accelerometer data and heart rate variability to calculate the amount of time one spends in light, deep and REM sleep. It also calculates the time spent awake at night to better understand one s sleep quality. Sleep Insights executes this by using Fitbit data gained from over 3 billion nights of logged sleep to provide a personalized guidance on how much sleep is required and how to improve it for better overall health. Sleep Stages will be available globally in Spring this year and is compatible with Alta HR, Blaze and Charge 2 devices as well. Sleep Insights will be compatible with all Fitbit devices. Fitbit launched the Alta fitness band aimed at the fashion conscious audience and it continues this with the Alta HR as well. There are special designer collections for the Fitbit Alta HR from PUBLIC SCHOOL, Simply Vera Vera Wang, and another coming soon from Tony Burch. Fitbit Alta HR is also available in classic colors of black, blue gray, fuchsia and coral with matching aluminum buckle which are priced at Rs 2,999.
Fitbit has introduced special edition trackers as well with one in soft pink classic band and 22K rose gold plated tracker and the other in black classic band with matte gunmetal tracker. The special edition trackers are priced at Rs 16,999. There is a Luxe Leather and metal collection as well available in colors of brown, indigo and lavender with matching buckle, and a Metal Bracelet in Stainless Steel. The Luxe Leather bands are priced at Rs 5,999 and the Luxe Metal Bracelet at Rs 9,999.
