The marketing material for the first BlackBerry 10 smartphone has allegedly been leaked barely an hour before RIM’s quarterly earnings call. RIM is hosting a press launch event on January 30 where it would showcase its new BlackBerry 10 operating system as well as smartphones running on the platform. According to evleak, who has a reputation of leaking press images, the first BlackBerry 10 smartphone will be called Z10 thanks to some marketing material that has been leaked. The Z10 has so far been called L-series and had been codenamed London within RIM. It has already been leaked many times with a complete hands-on as well but this is the first time we are hearing the marketing name for the product. It is also the first time we are seeing the phone in white. Also Read - BlackBerry to kill paid apps from its app store
RIM is also developing another smartphone that will have a physical QWERTY keypad and it might be called X10. This is a departure from RIM’s usual nomenclature with phone names consisting of four numbers preceded by the series name like Curve, Bold or Torch. We are quite confident that this is not the last time we are hearing or seeing anything about the new BlackBerry smartphones before their official announcement on January 30. Stay tuned.
