In terms of design, the Fitbit Alta comes with a stainless steel body and satin finish along with interchangeable bands. The wearable has an OLED display that shows your activity progress as well as smartphone notifications for calls, texts and calendar alerts. When notifications arrive, it also gives a gentle vibration. The display also lets you view your step count, calories burned and distanced walked.
The Alta tracks all your fitness activities, sleep and exercise. It can automatically recognize your movements such as running, walking, outdoor biking and aerobic workouts such as cardio, kickboxing, dance, and sports including tennis, soccer and basketball. If you re sitting at a place for too long, the band will vibrate and nudge you to take a walk. While the Blaze was equipped with a heart rate sensor, the Alta misses out on that.
This Bluetooth-enabled fitness tracker is compatible with Android, iOS and Windows Phone OS.
