Flickr is trying to get Instagram users to their side with this one-of-a-kind offer after a recent ‘misunderstanding’ by Instagram when proposed policy changes that were set to be rolled out in January seemed to suggest that Instagram would have the right to sell photos uploaded by users to companies to be used in advertisements. Terming it as a ‘holiday gift’, Flickr is offering the Pro service for free for three months, which would cost $24.95 per year or $6.95 for three months. Also Read - Instagram finally brings the feature we all were waiting for
The Pro service enables existing users to upload as many pictures they want (limited to 300 MB per month for free account holders, unlimited viewing of your complete Flickr library (limited to 200 images for free account holders)and lets you post photos to 60 groups (this has also been limited to 10 groups for free account holders).
Users having a free account can upload maximum two videos every month but with the Pro service they can upload unlimited number of videos (limited to 90 seconds per video and a maximum upload limit of 500 MB).
The ‘gift’ is also extended towards existing Pro users who can avail of all the Pro services free of charge for three months.
