After recently launching its ebook app for iOS and Windows Phone platforms, e-commerce portal Flipkart has added voice feature in its search bar for its users. Spotted by the folks at Nextbigwhat, this new feature will help users in searching for items on the portal using voice-search command, which works similar to that on the Google-search bar. To use the feature, one will have to tap on the usual mic icon given in the corner of the search bar to initiate voice-based search. The feature can be used for searching any item including the names of gadgets, authors, books and other goods, and supports only English. On testing, it worked pretty well while interpreting the voice commands and understands the Indian accent unlike many other offering similar voice features. This support for voice-search is restricted to Flipkart on desktop only but might as well launch for mobile devices.
