Flipkart s website has gone down within 10 minutes of Xiaomi Mi 3 going on sale. Last night, Flipkart had announced that it had received 100,000 pre-registrations for the Mi 3 ahead of the sale. It seems the website hasn t been able to handle the sudden rush of people trying to book their unit. This is not the first time that Flipkart s site has crashed on the day of a major launch. Earlier this year, the website crashed multiple times when the Motorola Moto G and the Motorola Moto E went on sale. It is surprising that Flipkart wasn t better prepared this time, considering the pre-registrations were a good indication of the kind of traffic the e-commerce site could have expected.
Hate the exclusive launches. @flipkart already in shambles; haven’t been able to order to the Mi3 in multiple attempts. @MiIndiaOfficial
Apologies for the issues our customers are facing… the Mi 3 launch is keeping our site very busy. Working on getting this fixed ASAP.
