Flipkart, the e-commerce giant has just launched its latest subscription-based service known as Flipkart Plus in the market. This new service will replace “Flipkart First“, the paid service that the company had launched in past to take on Amazon Prime. According to the details that the company shared previously, this new service is free and does not come with a fee for the subscription. According to the company, ‘Flipkart Plus’ is designed to delight Indian customers and added that this is an India-first program . This program was formulated after going through a data spread over years. However, if you think that this new program will be limited to Flipkart and e-commerce platform then you are mistaken as the company stated that almost all major internet companies are taking part in the program to ensure that ‘Flipkart Plus‘ turns into one of the best benefits program in India. The program will offer a wide range of choices on rewards allowing users free delivery, early access to sale events, superior customer support along with fast shipping. The company also added that it will offer free delivery on crores of products that are part of the platform. In addition to the benefits, the company has also launched ‘Plus Coins‘ that ‘Flipkart Plus‘ users will earn on each new order and users can unlock the above-mentioned benefits in exchange.
However, it is likely that this is a different platform that the company is planning to launch to focus on the refurbished and pre-owned products in the Indian market. The company had previously stated that it is working on a platform to replace eBay India with focus on refurbished products. Flipkart has not revealed any details about the upcoming platform.
