Xiaomi’s flash sale frenzy is back in full fervor with almost 40,000 Redmi Note 4G units going out of stock in six secondstoday. After the sale, Xiaomi’s India head Manu Jain announced that for the first time the company will sell two smartphones in a single flash sale. Xiaomi will sell the Redmi Note 4G and the Redmi 1S on Flipkart on January 6, the registrations for which will begin at 6.00PM today. This news comes as a celebratory feat for Xiaomi, which recently announced it sold 1 million smartphones in India in five months. The company has seen many ups and downs in this short span, with the High Court issuing a ban on its handsets sale earlier this month. Later, the ban was partially lifted, allowing Xiaomi to restore its flash sales for devices running on Qualcomm’s chipsets. As mentioned above, the registration window will open at 6.00PM today for the January 6 sale. The Redmi Note 4G variant priced at Rs 9,999 and the Redmi 1S is priced at Rs 5,999. It is mandatory to register in order to be eligible to participate in the sale. The company has not yet disclosed the number of units they would make available of both the devices for the next week’s sale.
To recap on the Redmi Note 4G specs, it is powered by a 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 305 GPU and 2GB RAM. It also features a 5.5-inch HD (1280 720 pixels) IPS display, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and 8GB internal storage, microSD card support, and a 3,100mAh battery. On the software front, it runs on Android KitKat wrapped under MIUI 5. Connectivity options include single-SIM card slot, and the device supports both FDD-LTE at 1800MHz, and TDD-LTE at 2300MHz.
The Redmi 1S has a 4.7-inch HD 720p display, a 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera, 8GB internal storage that can be further expanded using the microSD card slot, and a 2,000mAh battery.
