With an aim to target the affordable smartphone category, Lenovo today launched its A6000 handset in India. The handset, which was unveiled globally at CES event last week, packs in 4G LTE support among other interesting features. Priced at Rs 6,999, the handset will go on sale on January 28 exclusively via Flipkart. The A6000 packs in a 5-inch display with 720p screen resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit capable 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage. On the camera front, the handset packs in an 8-megapixel rear-camera, and a 2-megapixel shooter upfront. Other features of the handset include 2,300mAh battery, dual-SIM support, Android 4.4 KitKat, On the connectivity front, the dual-SIM capable A6000 supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0.
The A6000, however, isn t the only smartphone with LTE capability in the sub-Rs 10,000 price range. There are a few more handsets that offer LTE support and better hardware specifications under Rs 10,000 price point. Here are some smartphones that you should consider before buying an affordable LTE capable smartphone.
Unveiled last month at an event in New Delhi, the Yu Yureka handset went on sale earlier this week. The handset packs in a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, and is powered by a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with 64-bit capability and paired with 2GB of RAM.
The LTE-capable smartphone also features 16GB internal storage that can be further expanded using a microSD card. Furthermore, the smartphone also features a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,500mAh battery. On the software front, it runs on CyanogenMod OS 11 based on Android KitKat.
Priced at Rs 8,999, the Yu Yureka is available for purchase via Amazon India.
Nokia Lumia 638
Also a recently launched handset, the Lumia 638 runs on Windows Phone 8.1 mobile operating system and is LTE-capable. As far as the specifications are concerned, the Lumia 638 sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 480 pixels) ClearBlack LCD display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM.
Other features of the handset include 8GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone also features a 5-megapixel autofocus camera, no front-facing camera, a 1,830mAh battery.
Priced at Rs 8,299, the handset is available for purchase through both online and brick and mortar retailers.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G
Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 4G handset in India last month. The phablet, priced Rs 1,000 more than its 3G variant, suggests supports 4G LTE. The other features of the Note 4G include a 5.5-inch HD (1280 720 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by a 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 305 GPU and 2GB RAM.
The phablet also features a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and 8GB internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card should you need more storage, and a 3,100mAh battery. On the software front, it runs on Android KitKat wrapped under MIUI 5.
Priced at Rs 9,999, the handset is available exclusively via Flipkart and is sold through flash sales.
