Apple generally releases a phone during September or October and then makes it available in stores during the Holiday season. In what is the surest sign yet that the iPhone 5S could be on its way earlier this year, a report on WSJ claims Foxconn has stepped up hiring workers at its assembly lines to gear up for the production of Apple s next device. The Taiwanese company that manufactures Apple s devices at production facilities in Zhengzhou is said to have been hiring about 10,000 workers a week since the last month for its assembly lines. A Foxconn executive confirmed this news when he told WSJ, “We have been very busy recently as we will start mass-producing the new iPhone soon.”
To recap on what little we know about the upcoming iPhone 5S, Apple s next device is likely to sport a bigger 4.5-inch screen and will include a dual-LED flash stacked on top of one another to improve the phone s low-light photo clicking abilities. It is also rumored to sport a new A7 processor, which could be as a result of Apple’s acquisition of AuthenTec last year. Apple is also expected to announce a more affordable variant of the iPhone, which could come with a plastic casing in multiple colors.
