According to Flipkart, the Lenovo A6000 Plus and Lenovo K3 Note were the top two most popular smartphones in 2015. Motorola closely followed with two smartphones, Moto G (third generation) and Moto E (second generation) featuring at the third and sixth position respectively. The Xiaomi Mi 4i & Redmi Note 4G took fourth and fifth spots followed by the Samsung Galaxy On7, Samsung Galaxy J7, Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 and Asus Zenfone 5. Flipkart’s report on the smartphone trends isn’t very surprising. According to a recent IDC report, smartphones shipments in India had jumped 21.4 percent in the July-September quarter to 28.3 million units driven by three-fold jump in demand for 4G devices.
Samsung had emerged as the biggest 4G player in India with its popular affordable models such as the Galaxy Grand Prime and Galaxy J2. Interestingly, Samsung, which has major presence in traditional brick and mortar segment, has also its two 4G phones Galaxy On7 and Samsung Galaxy J7, on the Flipkart trends.
