Microsoft acquisition 2015 swiftkey
SwiftKey: Earlier today, Microsoft confirmed that it is acquiring keyboard app maker SwiftKey. It did not announce the price, but the deal has been reported to be in the vicinity of $250 million. Microsoft plans on integrating SwiftKey's technology with Microsoft's Word Flow keyboard and its predictive technology could also be a fit for Microsoft's work in the artificial intelligence space. The acquisition is also in line with the company's recent focus of launching productive apps for both Android and iOS platforms.

MinecraftEdu: After acquiring Minecraft back in 2014 for $2.5 billion, Microsoft further invested in a learning game called MinecraftEdu. This game lets teachers use Minecraft to teach students important lessons that will help them in the future. By building virtual worlds, Microsoft says that young students can learn a range of skills, like digital citizenship, empathy, social skills, and can even improve their literacy.
