Fujifilm announced a new hybrid camera today called the Instax Square SQ20. It is the successor to the SQ10, launched last year, and offers benefits of both a digital camera, and a polaroid camera. FujiFilm claims the camera to go on sale on October 20. Details on pricing and availabilty haven’t been revealed yet, but it can expected to be upwards of Rs 16,000, which is what its predecessor is currently priced at.
The SQ20 carries the same essence and design of its predecessor, but comes with some new features as well. One of the interesting additions is Motion Mode, which lets users take a 15 second video and print a selection out of it. You can also mash up four images for a single print in order to show motion blur in it. Besides that, there are other filters included, which will allow you to give pictures a more creative spin before taking a print of them.
Coming to core specifications, the Instax SQ20 features a 1/5-inch CMOS sensor, which is tagged alongside a lens carrying fixed focal length of 35mm and a maximum aperture of f/2.4. The camera also has maximum shutter speed of 1/7500 of a second and an ISO range of 100 to 1600. It is also said to be the first Instax camera to features a 4x digital zoom.
