Along with launching the Elife E7 last night at an event in Shanghai, Gionee also revealed that it would soon be launching a “mini” variant of its latest flagship device. Details are scarce at the moment, but according to the company, the Elife E7 mini will be the company’s first smartphone powered by MediaTek’s true octa-core processor.
As mentioned above details are scarce, but a Taiwanese website (spotted by FoneArena) accidently revealed the specs ahead on an official announcement. According to the listing, the Elife E7 mini is said to flaunt a 4.7-inch 720p display compared to the 5.5-inch full HD display on its older brother. It is also likely to be powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6592 SoC clocked at 1.7GHz and could feature a 13-megapixel swivel camera similar to the one on the Oppo N1. On the software front, it is likely to run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean wrapped under the company’s Amigo UI.
There’s no word on when the company would unveil the mini Elife E7. In the meantime though you can read our first impressions of its older sibling.
