As expected, Gionee today finally launched the Elife E8 in India. The flagship smartphone is priced at Rs 34,999, and as hinted in the company’s invite, this is the first Gionee smartphone to be exclusively available online, via Snapdeal. Gionee had launched the Elife E8 in China nearly four months back. The talking points of the smartphone are not only its premium design, but also its photography chops. At the back, the smartphone boasts a 24-megapixel camera with True Tone LED flash, lossless zoom, phase detection autofocus (which can focus in 0.08-0.2 seconds), and 4K video recording capabilities. Using software tricks, one can use the camera to click photos up to a whopping 120-megapixel resolution. The camera also boasts optical image stabilization, which can correct shakes up to an angle of 1.5 degrees.
Up front, is an 8-megapixel selfie camera, and Gionee says that the camera app has been programmed to launch in less than a second.
Gionee Elife E8 specifications and features: The Elife E8 also flaunts a 6-inch WQHD (2560×1440 pixels) AMOLED display with a pixel density of 491ppi. Under the hood is a 2GHz Mediatek Helio X10 octa-core chipset paired with PowerVR 6200 GPU, and 3GB of RAM.
Also on offer is 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone also features a 3,520mAh battery with fast charge support, and a fingerprint sensor, which the company claims has a recognition accuracy of more than 99 percent, and identification time of less than 500 milliseconds.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop wrapped under Amigo 3.1 UI.
