Gionee has finally unveiled the Elife E8 at its ongoing event in China. The big highlights about the successor of Elife E7 are the 24-megapixel rear camera and the large 6-inch 2K display. The smartphone is priced at 3999 RMB (Rs 41,200 approximately) and will sold in China starting July 15.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Elife E8 features a 6-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560) display. It is powered by the 64-bit 2GHz MediaTek MT6795 octa-core processor paired with the IMG G620 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The smartphone offers internal memory of 64GB which can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.
On the photography front, the Elife E8 features a 24-megapixel rear camera with OIS, true-tone flash, and real-time lossless zoom capable of taking 4K videos, alongside an 8-megapixel front camera. There’s also the heavily rumored fingerprint scanner at the back. It packs a 3520mAh battery, and runs on Amigo 3.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Connectivity options include LTE support, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
In comparison, the Elife E7 featured a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2GB/3GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB internal storage, 16-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front-facing snapper.
The company did confirm that the Elife E8 will be rolled out to other regions, but provided no tangible timeline. The smartphone is rumored to launch in India sometime by the end of this month.
