While the previous S-series smartphones sported a glass back design, the S6 sports a sleek and slim metal unibody design. With thin bezels and thickness of 6.9mm, Gionee claims that the Elife S6 has a display to glass ratio of 77.8 percent. The smartphone will be available in platinum and gold color options. Gionee Elife S6 specifications and features: It flaunts a 5.5-inch HD display running at a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The Elife S6 is powered by MediaTek’s 1.3GHz MT6753 octa-core processor paired with Mali T-720 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 32GB of internal storage, which is further expandable using a microSD card. In terms of photography, it is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a front facing 5-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone comes with 3,150mAh battery and connectivity features such as 4G LTE, USB Type-C connector, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Gionee’s AMIGO OS 3.1 running atop.
Announced in China, the Gionee Elife S6 is priced at CNY 1699, which translates to Rs 17,300, approximately. However, there aren’t enough details on the launch date and availability in India, as yet.
