Gionee today launched a new smartphone, the GPad-G3 in India. The company had recently launched its flagship smartphone Elife E6 in India for Rs 22,999. Talking of the features, the GPad-G3 comes equipped with a 5.5-inch LCD display with 854 480 pixels resolution. The phone is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor with PowerVR SGX544 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It comes with 4GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded by 32GB using a microSD card.
The GPad-G3 has a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash light with additional features like skin tone enhancer, gesture shot and smile detection and HD Video recording option. Other features in the phone include a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, wireless connectivity to 3G and Wi-Fi networks, apart from Bluetooth, and GPS, dual SIM compatibility. It houses a 2,250mAh battery.
On the software side, it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
At this price point, this smartphone with a huge display will compete against the likes of Micromax Canvas Doodle A111, which offers a slightly smaller display but is available for under Rs 10,000.
