Gionee has teased away two new smartphones for India on Flipkart. The Chinese company is reportedly facing financial woes in China, and may file for bankruptcy, according recent reports.
It’s been over seven months since Gionee launched any smartphone in India. The company recently made it news because of bankruptcy reports, which claimed that it failed to pay financial creditors, marketing firms and about 400 suppliers, hence may file for bankruptcy.
Even in India, there were reports stating that Gionee India will likely be acquired by Karbonn Mobile promoter and minority shareholder Vohra, but so far there is no development on that alleged acquisition efforts.
Coming to the new teaser listing on Flipkart, Gionee now hints at two new smartphones launch for India soon. One of the device from Gionee will have full-view display, ‘great camera’ at budget prices, notes Flipkart. The other device according to listing will have ‘beautiful design’ , ‘great performance’ and ‘long lasting battery’.
As of now, there are no other details available for the upcoming Gionee smartphones. All we can see from one of the teaser image is that it’ll pack horizontally stacked dual-rear camera setup on the top left corner. It’ll also have a fingerprint sensor located in the upper center of rear panel.
Last time around in April, Gionee launched the F205 and S11 Lite in India. The highlights of both smartphones were that they came with full view displays with 18:9 aspect ratio, and supported Face Unlock feature. The S11 Lite, also packed dual cameras at the back. It featured a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage.
