Gionee has quietly launched a new smartphone in China, called M6S Plus. The smartphone has been launched in two variants — 64GB variant priced at RMB 3,999 (approximately Rs 33,000), and 256GB variant priced at RMB 4,299 (roughly Rs 40,000). Gionee is taking pre-orders for the smartphone, and it is set to go on sale from May 2. There’s, however, no word on when the smartphone will launch in other countries, including India.
The GIonee M6S Plus, as the name suggests, is the successor to the previously launched Gionee M6 and M6 Plus. Similar to the other two, the talking point of the M6S Plus is the encrypted chip under the hood that keeps users’ personal data on the device secure. Another talking point is the 6,020mAh battery, which is good enough to last more than a day on a single charge. The battery also comes with support for Qualcomm’s QuickCharge 3.0.
