Gionee is close to launching a new smartphone called the Marathon M3, which is the successor to the Marathon M2 launched last year. While the company has yet to make anything official, the smartphone is already available on e-commerce site for Rs 13,499.
As the name suggests, the talking point on the smartphone is the 5,000mAh battery, which is an improvement over the 4,200mAh battery the M2 comes bundled with. The company claims that the battery will provide 32.46 hours of talk time on 3G network, and up to 51 hours on 2G network. On standby mode, it will survive more than 32 days.
As for hardware specifications, the Marathon M3 sports a 5-inch IPS One Glass Solution (OGS) display with 720p screen resolution. Underneath the device sits a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 processor paired with ARM Mali 450MP GPU and 1GB of RAM. On the photography front, it boasts 8-megapixel camera at the back, and a 2-megapixel camera at the front.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G, Wi-Fi, WLAN Direct, EDGE and GPRS, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, and micro-USB. The phone runs on Android Kitkat 4.4.4 out of the box.
