Gionee has sent out media invites for an event on November 24. While Gionee hasn’t revealed which device it is going to launch, the invite reads “India’s Longest Marathon, 6,020”. According to reports, the company is most likely to launch its new smartphone under its Marathon series, called Marathon M5, which recently launched in China. Despite boasting such massive battery, Gionee has still managed to keep the handset sleek with thickness at 8.5mm. To achieve this, Gionee has implemented a dual battery cell technology comprising of two 3,010mAh cells. Additionally, the Marathon M5 boasts of fast charging capabilities. There is an extreme power saver mode as well, activating which the M5’s battery can last for 62 hours on just five percent of charge. Gionee Marathon M5 specifications and features: The smartphone M5 flaunts a 5.5-inch HD display that runs at a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Under the hood, the handset is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. In the photography department, the M5 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera up front. In terms of connectivity options, the handset is equipped with dual-band LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The M5 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Amigo UI.
In China, the Marathon M5 costs 2,299 Yuan, which translates to Rs 23,615 approximately. While there is no word in Indian pricing, we’ll come to know on November 24 when Gionee officially launches the smartphone.
