Days after launching the S6 Pro in India, Gionee has introduced a new smartphone under its ‘P series’, called the Gionee P7 Max. Available in Nepal currently, the Gionee P7 Max is priced at NPR 21,999, which is Rs 13,800 approximately. Right now there’s no word on when the smartphone will be available in India. The P7 Max comes with metal unibody and does not have fingerprint sensor, which is very surprising considering the fingerprint readers are increasingly becoming common in smartphones across all price categories. The Gionee P7 Max looks very similar to the recent Gionee smartphones like the S6 Pro and S6s. The front is dominated by display with front camera on top, and capacitive touch buttons on at the bottom panel. The back has the camera module on top followed by Gionee branding and speaker grille at the bottom. Gionee P7 Max specifications
As reported by gadgetsinnepal, the Gionee P7 Max comes with a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and a pixel density of 267 PPI. The company claims that the screen is protected by a scratch resistant glass. Under the hood, it runs a MediaTek MT6595 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz and paired with 3GB RAM. Also on offer is 32 GB internal storage which can be expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and comes with the features like geotagging, Autofocus, HDR, Panorama and is also capable of taking full HD videos at 30fps. It also comes with 5-megapixel front camera at the front for selfies and video calls.
The P7 Max is equipped with a 3,100mAh battery. It comes with connectivity options like dual-SIM, 4G, GPS, A-GPS, Micro USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetoothv2.0. The handset comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s Amigo 3.2 UI on top.
If Gionee plans to launch the P7 Max in India for Rs 13,800 in India, it will against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, and LeEco Le 2. All the three smartphones are priced at Rs 12,999 respectively. One of the few drawbacks that the Gionee P7 Max will face as compared to its competition is that the P7 Max has a HD display while its competitions have full HD display. Also, the Gionee smartphone misses out on the fingerprint scanner.
Earlier, Gionee launched launched the S6 Pro smartphone for Rs 23,999. The smartphone also comes with a unibody metal design along with chamfered edges. The smartphone flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by MediaTek’s 64-bit Helio P10 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone also features 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable to128GB via microSD card.
The Gionee S6 Pro sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with 3,130mAh battery and includes connectivity like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. On the software front, it runs Amigo OS 3.2 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
