Gionee is gearing up to launch two new smartphones on November 15. Called the S9 and S9T, both smartphones have been subjected to a handful of leaks, revealing its key specifications, features and design. Ahead of the launch, Gionee has been already teased that the smartphone will come with a dual-rear camera setup, and now the latest teaser reveals a front-facing camera with LED flash to let you take better selfies in low-light. Besides the teaser, a couple of leaked photos have also surfaced online. Spotted by GizmoChina the photos show off the front and back of the smartphone. The photos aren t the clearest, but they do confirm some design bits. The first photo shows the front panel with the display and 2.5D glass on top. We can also see the home button flanked by app switcher and back buttons just below the display. We can also see the power and volume buttons along the right panel. The second photo shows the back of the device with dual camera module, LED flash and Gionee logo. The smartphone sports a full metal unibody design and the antenna band along the top half is also visible.
Gionee S9 and S9T specifications
The Gionee S9 was recently spotted on TENAA, and the listing revealed that the smartphone will feature a 5.5 inch full HD display covered with a 2.5D curved glass. With dimensions of 154.2 76.4 7.4mm, the smartphone weights 166.5 grams. It is likely to be powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. However, the chipset details are scarce at the moment. Considering that the smartphone boasts a dual-camera setup, we won t be surprised if it is powered by Qualcomm s new chipset that supports Clear Sight technology. With 64 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot for further expansion up to 128GB is also likely to be in tow. In the photography department, the smartphone is likely to feature a 13-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual-rear camera setup at the back. However, there are no details about the type of sensors Gionee is using. If Gionee does use Qualcomm s technology, the smartphone may feature an RGB (color) and a monochrome sensor to help you capture better photos. For video calling and selfies, the smart phone is expected to come with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. To keep things ticking, a 3,000mAh battery is expected. On the connectivity front, the Gionee S9 is likely to feature 4G LTE with VoLTE support, GPS, Bluetooth, USB and WiFi. The Gionee S9T, on the other hand, is expected to bring slight changes. Unlike the S9 that features a metal unibody design, the S9T is likely to come with a glass back design. It could also sport a slightly faster SoC clocked at 2GHz. Rest of the specifications on the smartphone are expected to be the same as the S9. Also, the Gionee S8 was equipped with a pressure sensitive touch technology, just like 3D Touch on iPhone 6s and iPhone 7-series. It remains to be seen Gionee will add it on the S9 and S9T as well. Both smartphones could also include support for multiple WhatsApp and WeChat accounts. As of now, there is no word on the pricing and availability; more details are expected when Gionee makes the smartphones official on November 15. Till then, stay tuned.
