Along with the M7, Gionee unveiled another smartphone in China, called the Steel 2 Plus. Gionee will be re-launching the Steel 2 Plus as M7 Power on September 28 in Thailand. The Gionee Steel 2 Plus is priced at RMB 1999 (approximately Rs 19,700), and comes in three color options of black, blue and gold. First reported by GizmoChina, the Steel 2 Plus comes with incremental upgrades over the Steel 2. This is also the same Gionee smartphone with GN5007 model number, which was recently spotted on TENAA. In terms of design, the Steel 2 Plus has almost no bezels on the sides, and very thin ones on top and bottom. With the absence of a home button, the fingerprint sensor is placed at the rear. There are two visible antenna lines running along the top and bottom part of the rear panel.

The Gionee Steel 2 Plus features a 6-inch HD+ (1600×900 pixels) FullView display. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 435 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. It further comes with 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. In the photography department, the Gionee Steel 2 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera of f/2.0 aperture, along with LED flash and PDAF. In comparison, the Gionee Steel 2 has a 5-inch HD display, and runs a MediaTek MT6737 SoC under its hood. The smartphone comes with 3GB RAM and two expandable storage options of 16GB and 32GB. For photography, the Steel 2 features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box wrapped under Amigo 3.5. The Gionee Steel 2 is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery.
