Gmail for Android has been updated with new features and some tweaks and fixes. Instead of having to go the desktop version of Gmail to set a vacation responder, one can now set a reply in the app itself. Besides photos and videos, users will now be able to send PDFs and zip files among other formats as email attachments. As mentioned, smartphones running on Android 4.4 KitKat can now print hard copies of their emails with the new print function. Also Read - Google and Qualcomm invest $230 million in HMD Global
Lastly, Google has also improved the performance of the app, especially for those running on older (less powerful) smartphones. This is a part of Google’s Project Svelte. These features have only been introduced on the Android app, with no word on when they will be arriving on other platforms.
Though we have the updated Gmail app on our phones we cannot see the above features. You can head over to the Play Store to update the app and try it yourself. If you can set a vacation responder, let us know in the comment section below.
