Google and Facebook are reportedly working on removing inflammatory and hateful content at the request of the Indian government according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. India has already blocked 245 web pages that are hosting videos and content of any kind that could be used to incite violence. According to the Journal, Facebook and Google have both acknowledged receiving a request for the removal of content. Facebook states that it will remove anything that breaches its terms of service. Google has also said it is working closely with the relevant authorities.
