The biggies like Reliance Jio, Apple and Google mostly kept the day interesting today. Where Reliance Jio revamped its booster plans, MediaTek in an event in New Delhi revealed that it is in talks with Reliance Jio and Google for a new project. Reliance Jio in talks with MediaTek and Google

As revealed by TL Lee, General Manager, Mediatek in an event today, Reliance Jio is in talks with MediaTek and Google to support smartphones powered by Android Oreo (Go edition). Lee also revealed that companies like Micromax, Lava and Intex are also working closely with the company for similar projects. No Apple iPhone SE 2 in 2018

Today KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo broke some hearts with his prediction of Apple unlikely to devote its resources in developing the rumored iPhone SE 2. He said that, if at all the company does introduce a new model, it is only going to have a basic processor upgrade, and nothing quite radical to look forward to.

Reliance Jio booster plans

Reliance Jio refreshed its booster plans today. The telco introduced a total of four booster plans starting at Rs 11, and the maximum plan is priced at Rs 101. The Rs 11 plan used to offer 100MB data, but after the revision, it now offers 400MB of high-speed 4G data. The second one is a new plan that is priced at Rs 21 and offers 1GB high-speed data.

The Rs 51 plan offers 3GB high-speed data. Before the revision, this plan used to offer 2GB data. Lastly, a new plan priced at Rs 101, offers 6GB high-speed data. Earlier, there was a Rs 91 plan that offered 2GB high-speed data.

Ola goes international

Ola is stepping out of its home to test international waters. Earlier today, Ola announced its plans of extending its presence in the market of Australia. As part of the expansion, the company has invited private hire vehicle owners in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth to learn more about driving and registering with Ola. The company plans to launch in the country early this year.

Google Assistant in Hindi

Google today updated its voice assistant so it can understand Hindi. This means, whenever you invoke Google Assistant with a command in Hindi, it would transcribe the command to English, and reply to you in proper Hindi. Up till now, Google understood Hindi, but the offer was often in English or Hinglish.
